Anti Ragging Cell
Ragging means any act, conduct or practice by which the dominant power or status of senior students is brought to bear on students freshly enrolled or students who are in any way considered junior or inferior by other students. It includes individual or collective acts or practices which
involve physical assault or threat, and/or use of physical force;
violate the status, dignity and honour of women students and the students belonging to the scheduled castes and tribes;
expose students to ridicule and contempt and affect their self-esteem;
entail verbal abuse and aggression, indecent gestures and obscene behaviour.
Aims of the Committee-
- To prevent and prohibit ragging in any form- ragging free campus
- To create awareness among students, anti-ragging initiative
- To establish and maintain discipline, code of conduct, decorum, and behavior among the students.
- To maintain cordial relations in the campus.
Objectives of the Committee-
- To uphold the directives of Hon’ble Supreme court, UGC, NMC Anti-ragging initiative.
- To maintain a Ragging-free campus-Zero tolerance towards ragging, creating awareness via education of staff, students.
- Conduct of anti-ragging movement and orientation during the foundation and orientation Period.
- Getting online and manual undertakings against ragging as per the UGC requirements from all students.
- To address and resolve the grievances of the students related to ragging through the Anti- ragging committee.
- Conduct of periodic meetings as and when the need arises to maintain the rules and regulations of the institute.
